HSC-Explorer

About HSC-Explorer

HSC-Explorer is a manually curated integrative bioinformatics resource based on semantic search and ontologies that allow to effectively search biological pathways relevant to hematopoiesis.
Specifically, the database currently covers the early steps of differentiation from the most primitive hematopoietic stem cells (LT-HSC) to the more differentiated progenitor cells (ST-HSC and MPP). Curated literature information about the different hematopoietic stem cell subpopulations published so far and their behavior in repopulation activity, self-renewal and quiescence and how these processes are regulated by intrinsic and extrinsic factors is provided.
Through an effective query function relevant information can be easily extracted and the data can be graphically visualized.
We constantly work on expanding the current database to ultimately cover all hematopoietic progenitor populations.
The aim of HSC-Explorer is to serve as a knowledge base for experimentally-oriented scientists and as a resource for bioinformatics applications.
