(2007) identified a duplication of the MYB oncogene in 8.4% of individuals with T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and in 5 T-ALL cell lines. The duplication was associated with a 3-fold increase in MYB expression, and knockdown of MYB expression initiated T cell differentiation. The results identified duplication of MYB as an oncogenic event and suggested that MYB could be a therapeutic target in human T-ALL. The duplication of MYB was detected by array comparative genomic hybridization (array CGH).
