Comment Homogeneous human ACE cleaved LHRH (luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone), a decapeptide, and released several peptides. ACE cleaved the bond between Leu7 and Arg8 and released the C-terminal tripeptide Arg-Pro-Gly-NH2, similar to results with substance P. Unexpectedly, the other major products of the enzymatic hydrolysis were the N-terminal tripeptide Glu-His-Trp and the C-terminal heptapeptide (LHRH4-10) which were liberated by cleaving the bond between Trp3 and Ser4.
