Reference: Franckhauser S et al.(2008) Overexpression of Il6 leads to hyperinsulinaemia, liver inflammation and reduced body weight in mice Diabetologia 51: 1306-1316 [PMID: 18437347]

Interaction Information:

Comment In mice overexpressing IL-6 in skeletal muscle the mRNA levels of Pepck and fatty acid synthase were markedly decreased in the liver. Furthermore, Il6 and Socs3 were increased together with several markers of inflammation, including Saa, Tnf-alpha (also known as Tnf) and Mcp-1 (also known as Ccl2). PGC1alpha and adiponectin receptor 2 were also significantly decreased.
