Reference: Franckhauser S et al.(2008) Overexpression of Il6 leads to hyperinsulinaemia, liver inflammation and reduced body weight in mice Diabetologia 51: 1306-1316 [PMID: 18437347]

Interaction Information:

Comment In mice overexpressing IL-6 in skeletal muscle the adiponectin receptors 1 and 2 were significantly decreased while Ucp2 was increased in skeletal muscle. Several mitochondrial genes (cytochrome C, Cox2 [also known as mt-Co2], beta-ATP synthase and mt-Tfa [also known as Tfam]) were decreased, and PGC1alpha (also known as Ppargc1a) was also significantly deceased in skeletal muscle.
