Comment The results suggest that C. burnetii regulates PKA signaling for distinct purposes during infection and does not alter all PKA-dependent responses. The experiments show an increased phosphorylation for Bad between 24 and 96 hpi and for p105 between 2 and 96 hpi, analysed in THP-1 cells infected in the presence or absence of chloramphenicol. The phosphorylation levels of the proteins CREB and GSK-3-beta did not change compared to uninfected cells.
