Comment Genetic knockdown of NOX2 (CYBB) (wild type mouse model compared with NOX2(-/-) mice) attenuates inflammatory response to P. aeruginosa but not the permeability. In wild type PBS instilled control mice, P. aeruginosa induced significant increase in IL-6, TNF-alpha and H2O2 in BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) fluids, in NOX2(-/-) mice, P. aeruginosa induced significantly lower levels of IL-6, TNF-alpha; and H2O2.
